Season and availability
The Valley works year-round — it sits lower than Cusco and shrugs off the rains better. Dry-season departures fill earlier; the fares themselves hold.
Worth knowing
In our plans this day usually comes before Machu Picchu, not after: sleeping in the Valley eases acclimatization and puts you closer to the Ollantaytambo train. That ordering is deliberate.
