Season and availability
The market runs daily now, but Sunday remains the big one, when villages from the upper valley come down to trade. Dry-season Sundays are the full spectacle.
Worth knowing
Prices at the stalls are gently negotiable; quality varies wildly between mass-made and hand-made. A guide who weaves — or grew up around looms — pays for the morning in saved mistakes.
Questions travelers actually ask
- Is Pisac worth it if I'm already doing the Sacred Valley day?
- They don't overlap: the classic Valley day runs Chinchero–Yucay–Ollantaytambo. Pisac is a different corner, and on longer trips we fold it into a transfer so it costs no extra time.
